WORK
A few case studies:

Photoshoplooter | A global meme
A simple Tumblr site in response to the London riots that became one of the most shared memes of the decade. Spawned a book, worldwide news coverage, and was shared 6 million times within a week. The Godfather of photoshopping memes.
Raised funds and awareness for KidsCompany & Shelter.

An adventurous idea, meant to inspire my own children away from their screens and into the outdoors that has become a global hit, inspiring hundreds of thousands of young explorers around the world.
Written and illustrated by an Unknown Adventurer
AKA me. A lifetime project, this one.
The Bestselling,
Bear Grylls-loving, Unknown Adventurer Children's series, now translated in over 22 languages.
"A clarion call to the child explorer." The Guardian
"Extraordinary"
The Financial Times
"Every young adventurer should read this book"
Kate Winslet

Royal Ascot | The artist collaborations
How do you bring one of the world's oldest brands to a new generation?
By partnering with leading contemporary artists to create a genuine showcase for the arts, and for the sport, each year.
The 'making-of' content alone reached a global audience.

Campaigns featured artists Lauren DiCoccio & David Mach, as well Joe Wilson and Bellerby & Co globemakers who teamed up to create a world like nowhere else.
Blinkbox Movies | Inventing a new cinema rating
Creating a 'Fresh from cinema' film rating for Blinkbox movies that made them known for something.
The creative?
Each TV ad was 90% static rating frame. Oh wait, there was the comedy voiceover. Most fun I've had in a booth.

giffgaff | Unlock a phone. Unlock a chicken.
The viral campaign that put giffgaff on the map.
How?
For every phone unlocked, a battery hen was set free. Launched with a viral music video fronted by none other than Keith Harris and Orville.
Stats:
10,000 battery hens rehomed.*
100,000 mobile phone users released from contracts and rehomed.
Most viewed ad on Youtube.
*Ran out of chickens.

Peroni | Remaking La Dolce Vita
Remaking of La Dolce Vita for global launch of Peroni Nastro Azzuro. Helped turn brand from an Italian farmer's beer into something synonymous with the finest tastes of Italy.
The brands most successful campaign to date.

innocent Fruitstock | A launch with a twist
Creating (at the time) the world's largest fruit-powered battery to launch innocent's Fruitstock music festival.
Budget: About £30.
Low-fi but imaginative content like this helped innocent become one of the nation's most loved brands.
Before the sell-out.
Shots Magazine's Film of the month.

Bloom Fm | Making app store reviews the battleground
How to launch the app store's most loved music app to a persuasion resistant nation?
Use the most painfully honest reviews.
Each new subscriber fed and helped spread the campaign. In three months we had created one million new evangelists.
Bee band was the most tweeted/X'd ad on TV at the time.

The Nike Cookbook | Food; more important than footwear.
This nearly made it into reality, which was enough for me to include here.
I liked the idea of Nike being honest about something that matters to athletes, and all of us.
Oh, the graveyard of 'nearly-mades', your bones run deep.

The Feel Good Bakery | Building an Up-start
Helped create, name, and brand a very different kind of sandwich company. For every sandwich you buy a hungry child gets a proper meal too.
This company is part run by ex-gang members trying to make a go of it. So far it has spawned festivals, Jamie Oliver love-ins, and 78,562 happy tummies, so far.
Now making coffee 😎

The above work is stuff with, well, an idea.
In 20 years I have also worked on campaigns and solved problems for google, Virgin, Nike, ebay, Coke, Travel Republic, Skype, innocent drinks, honda, discovery channel, UKTV, BBC, Air New Zealand, Team Sky, giffgaff, O2, Rapha, BT, ITV...
